Physics Olympiad
Coaching the top Moroccan high school students for national and international physics competitions (NPhO, IPhO).
Alongside the Ministry of National Education, we coach the students selected nationally through the NPhO (National Physics Olympiad) and train them online to represent Morocco in international physics competitions. Our aim is to see Morocco among the top teams worldwide and to prepare these gifted students for higher-level challenges.
What is the Physics Olympiad?
The Physics Olympiad is a selective international competition for high school students, where every team represents its country in the annual international competition. Students compete individually in challenging theoretical and experimental examinations, each lasting five hours.
Medal thresholds
Since the first International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) in Warsaw in 1967, Morocco's first participation in the international event was last year at IPhO France 2025. The selected national team was composed of Nizar Lotfe Allah, Mohamed Bouaouda, Mehdi Meknassi, Zakaria Khalifa, and Rayane Fars. Prior to that, only the NPhO (National Physics Olympiad) had taken place for Moroccan students.

Who we are in the Physics Olympiad Division
Our goal in this division is to coach the top high school students selected nationally for the NPhO (National Physics Olympiad), alongside the Ministry of National Education, and to train them online to represent Morocco in international physics olympiads. Our aim is to see Morocco among the top selected teams in international physics competitions, and to prepare these gifted students for higher-level challenges.
What we have done so far
Training the national team 2025
A selection of courses and resources were lectured to the selected national team, mainly as a complement to the Ministry's work. The head of the division, Yassir Amazouz, also welcomed the team upon their arrival in France.
Training NPhO 2025/2026 candidates
Weekly course sessions are given by members of the division — theoretical lectures or problem and exercise sessions — for the 41 selected students currently in the NPhO track.
Individual Coaching
A mentorship system is set up so that every participant benefits from individual coaching based on their specific needs — a fruitful system that has already shown strong results.

Further steps
In the coming months, we will work on a strand that is usually neglected in the Moroccan educational system: the experimental component, in a format adapted for online follow-up.
